Nami - Complete! 1/2

It's finished, yay! Nami is not really one of my favourite characters from One Piece, but what I do like is her Clima-tact (weapon) that can do different weather effects, especially the lightning/thunder attacks. Also, who hasn't had a crush on Nami at some point? xD
Random fact, but this was one of the new projects I made horizontal instead of vertical, as it was so tall. When projects get tall, the way I have my setup with desk and computers, it becomes rather straining to place beads so far away, so horizontal worked fine this time. 

I was gonna discuss how this piece doesn't have that many colors, but when I looked at it, I realized it has a similar amount compared to Luffy. 
The bikini was the first part I did and consists of colors from Artkal and Perler. I always thought her bikini was more towards the blueish-turquoise palette, but I started looking at pictures from the anime and saw that it's actually green. I don't think the shading is 100% perfect for the bikini and I skipped one color (from 5 shades to 4), but it still came out super imo. 
Next part was the hair. I tried some different combos with only beads from Artkal, but in the end I chose Hama/Nabbi as the darker shades and Artkal for the brighter ones. The brown is from Artkal, which can be a bit questionable if it looks good, but I actually think it adds a bit of "dimension" (lack of better word) and makes her more... Alive, I guess? I don't know a good way to describe the feeling, but I like it a lot.
The random bits (which aren't visible in this picture unfortunately), but you can see them in the others are the log pose on around her wrist and pants. Quite simple colors and shading here, but came it out good as well.
Finally the skin is pretty much standard colors for me at this point. Only difference compared to Luffy is that I skipped one of the colors from Artkal so the shading here is basically 4 colors (5 if you count the darkest brown which is the same I used for her hair). I think it as always makes for believeable skin tones and shading, so I will keep on using it unless something new comes up!

Just as with my latest big projects for the past one or two months, ironing has been surprisingly easy. I've gotten a lot of questions recently how I do it without using the tape method, so I will be looking at making a video or two showing my "technique", which is just the traditional method aka ironing directly on top of the pegboards. I do quite carefule and meticulous, so maybe that's it... Anywas, I'll try cover that in a video soon!

In conclusion, I really love this beadsprite. Fun to make and the colors are very vibrant. Not my absolute best nor favourite, but definitely one of the better ones I've made.


~Some interesting facts~:
Total time time spent making this beadsprite: Hard to say exactly. Started on friday morning and finished at lunch on sunday. Estimating it to maybe 15-18 hours during the three days. Probably. Give or take. 
Total number of pegboards used: 32 pegboards. One less than Luffy and the same as Sylvanas. 
Width: ~65 centimeters (~2'5" feet)  
Height: ~87 centimeters (~2'10" feet)
Time spent ironing (both sides): Probably 2 hours! It's a lot of work. ;_; 
Number of beads used: A bit over 14k, around 14300 to be more precise (I found a way to count pixels in Gimp).
